What is a PDO threading face-lift?
Polydioxanone (PDO) threading is a nonsurgical face-lift that rejuvenates sagging skin. During this procedure, your experienced medical aesthetics provider injects special surgical-grade threads into areas of your face with a fine needle. The thread is made from polydioxanone — a material that has been used for medical sutures for more than 35 years.
The PDO threads lift your skin tissue and improve its texture. The threads also stimulate the production of new collagen, so your skin continues to become firmer and regenerate new cells and tissue in the weeks following your face-lift. Your body absorbs the threads as they dissolve and eliminates them naturally, so there’s no need to return to have them removed.
How does PDO threading work?
The minimally invasive PDO threading face-lift involves injecting tiny threads into the deeper layers under the surface of your skin. There is some discomfort during this procedure, but patients usually tolerate it well. You may request a topical numbing cream to help minimize any discomfort.
Once the threads are in place, they lift your face upward, giving the appearance of firmer skin for a nonsurgical face-lift that offers visible results without invasive surgery. The PDO threads also promote cellular renewal through collagen stimulation, which improves your skin’s texture and elasticity, and diminishes fine lines. A PDO face-lift also contracts fatty tissue under your skin, so your skin appears tighter.
After the threads dissolve and your body eliminates them, your skin continues to appear firmer, slimmer, and smoother for up to six to nine months as a result of new collagen production.
What areas of can I treat with a PDO threading face-lift?
PDO threading can improve just about every area of your face where you see the signs of aging. It tightens moderately sagging skin and diminishes fine lines all over your face, including:
- Frown lines between your eyebrows
- Cheeks and jowls
- Crow’s feet around your eyes
- Lips and lip lines
- Forehead wrinkles and lines
The unique threads lift, reposition, and secure areas of sagging skin, without the unpleasant side effects of invasive traditional face-lift surgeries, and the procedure requires minimal downtime. Additionally, since PDO threads have been used for many years as surgical sutures, it’s considered to be a relatively safe procedure.
